Ferrari 126C2, a superdetailed Protar / Revell kit

Several years ago, I wrote a note concerning the problems I encountered while building the 126C2 in 1994. That kit was all metal and it didn't allow for greater adding or modifications. My first concern was what to do with the chassis which comprises an upper and a lower part.
In the instruction manual, Protar states that you should build and install all the inner parts and the front suspension elements, and then glue the two sections together. But the problem was, how to paint the inner part with semi gloss gray, and the outer part with aluminum, and then glue both halves without leaving a visible joint line.....
