Datsun 240 Z Race car

Kit / Model

Datsun 240ZG Fairlady

Manufacturer

Tamiya

Item Code

12010

Scale

1/12

Description

This car is inspired by Jim Mortons BRE Datsun race car from
the early seventies. It´s not 100% like the original but I
did like the look and livery of it.
I have used parts from both the ZG and the Safari kit.

Thomas, if you want to go on with the wheels matter, you should make some resin copies of one Tyrrell front wheel modified. Anyway the work looks very nice.

Thanks Mario!
I used the carburetors in my Rallyversion, wich I have updated now in the showroom.
The tip regarding the wheels was great, I didn´t know that.
Sorry, no building pictures.

I know the car, it's rare you used the Safari wheels and nose, but not the air filter of the carburetors. A small garage firm offered a conversion kit of low quality some years ago. You could use the center of the 1/12 Tamiya Tyrrell ford front wheel with the Datsun ring and you would have the JM BRE Datsun wheels.
Terrific work as usual!!! Did you have pictures during building???
