A cutaway Testarossa Tamiya 1/24

Kit / Model

Ferrari Testarrosa

Manufacturer

Tamiya

Item Code

24059

Scale

1/24

Description

Usually I am not concerned with production cars but, inspirated by some drawings published in Quattroruote (the most important Italian cars magazine) during the 80’s, I decided to start a series of cutaway models, revealing the beautiful technique hidden under their body panels. Some sport cars from the Tamiya range (namely Ferrari) are the perfect bases to carry out this long-term project, so let’s begin with the Testarossa.

With the substantial help of many pictures, technical documentation and original manufacturer’s spare parts list and data sheet, I started roughly sketching on the kit instructions the modifications to be done, as memo. In this particular project no conversion, transkit or photo-etched set have been used. Most of the modifications was scratchbuilding with the addition of some adapted scrap etched parts.

Alessandro:
Amazing work. I can believe it. Oohh!!!
I have a question. What type of tool did you use for transparent (crystal) plastic cutting? Each time I try cut crystal plastic I get a white line. Is it a question of apply any product as polish?
Thanks
BorJacho
