Porsche 2.7 Carrera Lightweight

Kit / Model

RSR type 934

Manufacturer

Tamiya

Item Code

N/A

Scale

1/12

Description

This model started life as a 1:12 Tamiya RSR Type934 Turbo kit.

The brief was to make a replica of my clients Lightweight and I used the RSR as a starting point. The project involved some pretty heavy surgery to the bodywork of the base kit including scratch building the front of the car, the rear engine cover and the wheels.

Work was also involved converting the engine from the turbocharged race engine to the normally aspirated 2.7 unit plus under bonnet detail

Excellent work, did you have the real one at sight when you started the mods?

Congratulations

The level of detail of the model to scale 1/12 is amazing. But on a Porsche Carrera it turns out to be sublime. Fantastic work.

I love Porsche... but I can't buy a real one. What a pity!
